MiBAP Names 2021-22 Board of Directors Including Newly Elected President Dr. Candice Lake

Kalamazoo, MI, January 4, 2021

The Michigan Behavior Analysis Providers (MiBAP) Association announced today that Dr. Candice Lake, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, LLP, has been selected as its next Association President, effective January 1, 2021. Dr. Lake is currently the Director of the Autism Center for Child Development at Wedgwood Christian Services, and has served on the MiBAP Board of Directors since its founding in 2019. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from North Dakota State University in 2004, and her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University in 2011. She joined Wedgwood Christian Services in May 2014 to develop an early intensive behavioral intervention program for young children with autism and has built the Autism Center for Child Development from the ground up. “I’m passionate about providing and advocating for high quality services based on the principles of ABA, and protecting the interests of the field of applied behavior analysis as well as the rights of the individuals and families we serve. MiBAP is a true leader in supporting ABA in Michigan and I’m honored to serve as its President,” said Dr. Lake, “I look forward to continuing our work with the many other public and private entities engaged in our cause, including Michigan legislators, public and private insurance payors, other non-profit associations, and of course thousands of Michigan families.”

  • Jeff Brown, Executive Director of Quality Assurance at Centria (Director)
  • Joshua Diehl, PhD, Chief Program Officer, Child & Adolescent Services at LOGAN Community Resources, Inc. (Director)
  • Rebecca Eldridge, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, Clinical Director at Kalamazoo Autism Center (Director)
  • Michael Kouracos, CEO at Gateway Pediatric Therapy, LLC (Director)
  • Jenipher Swanson, MA, BCBA, LBA, Partner at ABA Pathways, LLC (Director)

Near-term MiBAP initiatives in 2021 include its annual ABA Advocacy/Legislative Day, scheduled for February 23, and ongoing committees and educational webinars for its membership.
